March 31st, 2025: Revelation 3.17-19

Revelation 3.17-19
17 ‘Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and pitiable and poor and blind and naked.
18 I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be manifested; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.
19 ‘Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline. Therefore be zealous and repent.

In this era of wealth and prosperity, we risk losing our connection to God. When life seems good, we often forget about the great riches of God and instead focus on leisure, play, or acquiring more things. This is precisely what Jesus warns us against. Instead of relying on our wealth for security, we must examine our lives and seek the true wealth Jesus has offered; the wisdom of God. By turning to him for guidance and purification, we can become holy and presentable to our God. Listening to his reproof, we must become zealous for God as he was and repent from our reliance on wealth and its pursuit. Praying for our eyes to be opened, so that God will allow us to see and make the necessary changes to become better children of God. Only then will we be ready when God sends Jesus back to the earth.
