April 1st, 2025: Psalm 42.11

Psalm 42.11

Why are you in despair, O my soul?
And why are you disturbed within me?
Wait for God, for I shall still praise Him,
The salvation of my presence and my God.

This life doesn’t go as planned often. Situations change, events take place, despair will come; but, we should not let ourselves get lost in the heartache. We are promised to be lifted up by our God, for the wrongs to be made right, for justice and mercy to prevail. Waiting isn’t most of our strong suits, but it does grow patience. Patience to wait for our God to correct everything and to bring in the kingdom and eventually life eternally with our Father where there will be no tears or pain. No more despair. It is not easy today when the emotions may feel fresh. It may not feel easy tomorrow. But we know that God will carry us through and make it all right if we lean on Him. That can help us process today to have the hope for tomorrow. We must wait for our Savior and let the despair fade from our soul.
