April 3rd, 2025: 2 Corinthians 12.9,10

2 Corinthians 12.9,10
9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions and hardships, for the sake of Christ, for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Paul the Apostle suffered from an ailment, potentially blindness, that he asked God to remove from him. The response he received was not what he wanted. God did not heal Paul then but allowed this weakness of Pauls to shine forth his hope and faith in God. We have the same opportunity in our lives. We may be suffering from a disease or affliction or belittlement on account of Christ that is not pleasant; but, can be used to actually show our strength. By enduring and keeping the faith in our God, we can show the world what great hope we have. As hard as it may seem now, what is 70 years of affliction to eternal life in a perfected body with a loving family? Our endurance shines to others who have no hope and can be an amazing witness for our God. So instead of asking “why me?”, let’s ask “how can I use this to bring glory to my God and shine forth my hope?”
