John 17.3
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
What does it mean to know God and Jesus? Our salvation hangs on this question, being that by knowing them we will have eternal life. To know something is not just to know its name or a vague idea about it; but, to understand something on a deeper level while having it affect your life. If you know how to drive, you understand the ideas around driving but also have the abilities to safely drive a vehicle. Same with our God and with our Lord. If we know them that means we know what they stand for and have said while also living that out in our lives. We need to work to know them because our very life depends on this relationship. Let’s learn and grow in our knowledge and live the lives our God showed us through His son.
