April 26th, 2025: Proverbs 9.4-6

Proverbs 9.4-6

“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!”
To him who lacks a heart of wisdom she says,
“Come, eat of my bread
And drink of the wine I have mixed.
Forsake your simplicity and live,
And step into the way of understanding.”

God does not hide His instructions and guidance. He does not ask of us something that He hasn’t explained and made clear what He is looking for. The call of Lady Wisdom is a showing of this nature of God. He has called out to His creation to turn to Him, to listen to His words, and to not be going about blindly and foolishly. God has prepared it all; we just have to accept it and choose it. This language of prepared bread and drink should make us think of Jesus as well. The Son of God sent by Gods plan to prepare us to come back to God. Again, we just have to accept and live what God has already prepared and offered. He will provide the wisdom and understanding if we just heed His call.
