Matthew 5.5

Blessed are the lowly, for they shall inherit the Earth

The gift of the world, Gods plan from the beginning to give to His creation. Yet that gift isn’t given to all. Only to the lowly or humble is it given. So it would be beneficial to understand what that means and then to live it. To be lowly is to reverse our inner pride. Rather than thinking highly and lifting ourselves above others (whether in our achievements, skills, knowledge, etc.), we lower ourselves by preferring others and recognizing we aren’t as great as we think we are. It’s easy to let prideful language start to crop up in our lives. “You got 5 hours of sleep last night? Pshh, I only got 4 and I’m fine”, “You think that’s cool? Check out what I did.” When we aren’t careful, it’s easy to be lifting ourselves above others and not taking on the lowly, humble heart and attitude God desires. Why does He desire it? Because a world full of people who are always seeking to lift up others rather than themselves is a world of peace and love. A world with a family that God wants to live with. Let’s stay humble and seeking the inheritance God has promised.
