1 John 2.21
I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth.
‘No lie is of the truth’, what a powerful yet simple statement. Our walk with God has to be rooted in truth, that is who God is seeking to be His worshippers. With truth being so fundamental, how serious should we take lies? Is there room for “little lies” or “white lies?” If no lie is from truth and we are to be upholding truth with our God, it really makes us self reflect on our choices. Lying can become habitual and tempting to use for temporal gain. However that perceived gain is really a loss of the greatest thing of all: a relationship with our God. Let’s truly embody the message John was sharing and only hold truth and refuse the lies.
