Hebrews 10.26,27
For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries.
It isn’t comfortable to think of ourselves as adversaries to God when we sin, when we choose to do our own will rather than Gods. The grace of God is so good, He is so long-suffering and patient; yet, judgement will come. We are not able to sin willfully and expect the glorious gift of immortality and His kingdom. We have to choose today if we are going to serve God or ourselves. One comes with peace and hope, the other fear. Can we overcome ourselves or will we be an adversary to God?
