You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
— James 4:3
“Why aren’t my prayers being answered?” Have you asked yourself that before? Sometimes it can be due to the wrong motive being behind it. If we are asking God for His will to be done while praying for us to become wealthy, or famous, or for something that is against God all together, do you think it will be answered? Even if we ask for something good like an opportunity to teach someone the gospel, but we are doing so to puff ourselves up in being seen as a “teacher”, our hearts are not pure. We must first examine our hearts and see where our desires land, then we can come to our wonderful God in prayer for His guidance and help.
