To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, called as saints, with all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:

To call upon the same Lord Jesus Christ is a very special and unifying action. When we get to fellowship together with brethren whom we may have never met until that moment, yet we follow the same master and Lord, it feels as if we’ve known them our whole lives. Sadly in Paul’s time and continuing to today there are different Jesus’ taught and held up as lord. Yet there is only one true Lord and master. The one whom God has anointed and placed at His right hand. When we find brethren of the true Lord in Gods church, we should all be overjoyed and feel the familiar bond that comes from our shared hope. Paul calling all those who believe in the same Lord Jesus Saints who are set apart, hopefully we can be apart of that sanctification. Hopefully we are all looking and loving the brethren that we meet and come into contact with everyday.
