April 4th, 2025: Psalm 34.15-18

Psalms 34.15-18
15 The eyes of Yahweh are toward the righteous And His ears are open to their cry for help.
16 The face of Yahweh is against evildoers, To cut off the memory of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 Yahweh is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.

One of the wonderful promises we have from God is that He is here as our protector. He hears when we need help and calls out to Him. We are not always guaranteed that in this life we will be saved from all of our afflictions; but, in the age to come when God sends Jesus back to the Earth, true justice and mercy will reign. Those who are brokenhearted and distraught due to the wickedness of this world will be heard and protected. Those who have been mistreated and persecuted now will be raised in honor and glory. That hope of salvation later helps us through the trials today, but we shouldn’t just limit it to that. God is a loving Father, and we should pray and ask for help for today as well, just with the correct expectations. He is near to us when we ask, so let’s lean on our Father through the trials we face.
