June 6th, 2025: 1 John 5.14,15

And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

Our prayers have power because we are entreating the true and living God! Yet our prayers are not always heard if we are asking outside of His will. God has a plan and a purpose for all of us and if we begin to ask outside of this plan for our own desires, God will not answer us. And it isn’t that God hasn’t told us His will. He has graciously given us the prophets, the last of which being His son who told us all of His will and plan. We can read and learn His plan and ask Him within that. It is when we know Gods will that we can have this confidence John speaks of in our prayers. We can begin today to learn more about God’s plan and let our prayers be as powerful as they should be.
